The vice President, Kashim Shettima says the government is invested in holistic revolution and revitalization of moribund sectors, agencies and parastatals to propel an all-round catalytic reaction which will in turn channel the multiple resources available to Nigeria in the right developmental path.

 

Shettima speaking at the Comptroller-General of Customs Conference, in Lagos, emphasized the need to eradicate corruption and unpatriotic in a bid to thoroughly sanitize the civil service which he said handles the chunk of government business at all levels.

 

According to him, the custom service is key in revenue generation, trade and investment, urging the service to expand its scope of operations through innovation and systematic approach to service delivery.

 

On his part, the host and Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu charged the customs to adopt technology in-line with global standards to improve international trade which he said is essential to the economic development of Nigeria.

 

According to him, President Tinubu has set an agenda for government at all levels to work out plans to diversify the economy and draw attention from crude oil to other dependable and sustainable sources of revenue, to boost national fortunes.
