Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, has appreciated partners and member states that facilitated his countries membership to NATO.

Kristersson who handed over the last document to U.S, two years after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine forced it to rethink its national security policy, expressed delight with the milestone achievement.

In a statement U.S. President Joe Biden, said he was honoured to welcome Sweden as the alliance’s newest member, adding that transatlantic security was stronger than ever.

On his part, U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken, stated that Sweden will benefit from the alliance’s common defence guarantee under which an attack on one member will be regarded as an attack on all.
