Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has declared three days of state mourning in honour of the late Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed on yesterday.

 

The directive of Makinde, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, is contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

 

Makinde also ordered that all flags at public offices in the state be flown at half-mast for three days, to honour his late colleague.

 

The Governor on Wednesday evening, alongside the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, and Kwara state Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, visited the Ibadan home of the late Akeredolu.

 

Late Akeredolu has been succeeded by his deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa who was in acting capacity before the demise of his principle.

 

The now Governor of Ondo state has also ordered a three-day mourning in the state, and flags be flown at half-mast
