The director Lagos state emergency management agency LASEMA. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu has appealed to residents to embrace safety practices in order to put an end to the recent trend of fire outbreaks in the state.

Speaking during an interview, Osanyintolu argued that residents, especially traders continue to flout safety rules, sustaining practices that aid fire outbreak, including keeping fuel in their shops and placing generators in danger zones.

According to him, the state government will continue to invest in the safety of the public, noting that the agency will be ruthless will violators, seeking to put the investments and properties of others in jeopardy.

Earlier, state coordinator NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, said scarcity of water at this period poses a great threat to combatting fire incidences in Lagos, urging residents to remain safety conscious.
