Oyo state government has slammed President Tinubu’s government for allowing unscrupulous elements to employ propaganda in peddling unverified information about its activities and purported policies to meet the needs of citizens, which he described as unnecessary and unfruitful.

Governor Seyi Makinde speaking during the commissioning of the dualised challenege, odo-ona elewe, apata road which he renamed Theophilus Akinyele way, expressed disappointment at reports making the rounds that the federal government had increased allocations to states and local governments in a bid to alleviate the suffering of the people.

According to him, such reports are unfounded and misleading, noting that propaganda and political ploys will not solve the challenges facing the nation, but sincere and concerted action towards addressing the root matters as appropriate is what is needed.

Makinde further revealed that the Peoples democratic party Governors forum has agreed to align plans and policies perceived as immediate solutions to the reoccurring issues in the country which he said will be revealed in no distant time.

He however called on stakeholders to jettison bitter politics at this crucial time in Nigeria, stating that only a united Nigeria can permanently resolve the prevalent issues for the sustenance of democracy and the development of the nation.

The Governor also promised to extend the wage awards in the state by six months to workers before a new minimum wage is agreed upon, stating that his government is actively working on other plans to reduce the economic burden on the people.
