Enugu state Governor, Peter Mbah says the reliance on federal allocations to meet the monthly needs of state governments is unrealistic and unsustainable, calling for alternative financing modules which will grant state independence in running their own operations comfortably without undue dependence on the federal government.
Mbah speaking during an event in Ibadan, Oyo state, noted that the current economic realities do not support the system of monthly federal allocations to states, insisting that the FAC system limits state government from thoroughly executing projects peculiar to their state.
The governor also called on his colleagues to set their priorities and embark only on valuable projects, capable of opening their states to investments and profitable partnerships.
