An Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed an appeal filed by the Ondo state House of Assembly and the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji against the judgment stopping the removal of the Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

At the proceedings, the counsel for the appellants, Remi Olatubora, SAN announced to the court that the parties in the matter have found a political solution to the issue.

Olatubora also stated that both parties had signed an Amistad agreement and on behalf of the appellants and he was in court to withdraw the appeal.

 

Recall, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja had restrained the State House of Assembly from impeaching Aiyedatiwa over allegations of gross misconduct and restraining governor Rotimi Akeredolu from nominating a new deputy governor and forwarding the same to the lawmakers for approval pending the hearing and determination of the substantive matter.
