The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, alongside the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) have established a 7,000-man special task force to clamp down on dollar racketeers, in a bid to mitigate collapse of the Naira.

The NSA’s spokesperson, Zakari Mijinyawa, in a statement, said the taskforce which would be across 14 zonal commands was prompted by activities of speculators, that have contributed to the depreciation of the naira and economic instability in nigeria.

He noted that the operation will ensure a stable and transparent foreign exchange market, fostering investor confidence, and advancing the nation’s economic well-being.
