Portuguese tactician, Jose Peseiro has left his role as the coach of the Super Eagles after taking the team to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Although there were reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was negotiating with the Portuguese to renew his contract, Peseiro in a social media post stated that he has decided to walk away from the role.
According to him, his time as the coach of the super eagles was immense and sacrificial, appreciating the Nigeria football federation for the opportunity to serve in that role.
The gaffer became the toast of the town, following his success at the AFCON, with Algeria, Zamalek of Egypt among other teams attempting to get his signature.
