Lagos state government has debunked rumours on social media, claiming Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s administration is sharing 20,000 support funds to cushion the financial burden during the Ramadan period.
Senior special assistant on new media to the governor, Jubril Gawat made this know on x, stating that such reports are misleading and malicious, insisting that there are no plans for such financial assistance by the Sanwo-Olu government.
Gawat, however urged residents to remain vigilant against false information and to verify any claims regarding government support programs, from verified government sources.
He also used the opportunity to admonish faithful to show love and compassion in this period, in accordance to the teachings and commandments of God.
