Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has flagged off the electronic registration of lands in the state with the launching of a land administration portal, e-GIS as part of measures to boost ease of doing business in the state.

 

Sanwo-Olu, speaking at the event, said the platform is critical to highlight that innovative automated process, transiting land transactions digital format and integrating it into the state registry, reducing loopholes and savings cost.

 

According to him, the rival tool customizes and streamline business workflow, aims for higher productivity, enhance revenue generation to secure documents and to improve customer service.

 

The portal eliminates all forms of manual registration, reduces physical presence of applicants at Lands Bureau offices, allows residents to register their lands from the comfort of their homes, pay all necessary fees online, obtain their title document, and apply for a Certificate of Occupancy, C of O among other registration.

 

On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on e-GIS and Urban Development, Olajide Babatunde, stressed the portal would be used to manage and monitor lands in the state, with hopes that the portal will also drive investment and ease business index.
