Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has said Federal Government is looking into ensuring outstanding payments are made to power generation companies (GenCos) to resolve the incessant blackout experienced in the country.

In a statement his Special Adviser, Strategic Communication, Bolaji Tunji, Adelabu said efforts are on to ensure improved gas supply and increased power generation, which will also enable distribution companies to supply more electricity to Nigerians.

The Minister who apologized for the current situation, stated that the power outage was due to a decreased level of gas supply to generation companies, leading to lower level of energy supplied to load centres, which has affected supply of electricity to distribution companies.

Adelabu however assured that efforts are being made to ensure a quick resolution of the problem, for the time being while a lasting solution will be provided in the nearest future.
