The Federal Government is set to receive thirty-three thousand metric tonnes of potash donated by Russia’s Uralchem group and un partners in an effort to boost food security in the country.

Vice president, Kashim Shettima disclosed this at a meeting with fertilizer producers and suppliers’ association of Nigeria, expressing the commitment of the Tinubu administration towards reducing the cost of fertilizers for Nigerian farmers.

Shettima charged stakeholders to ensure transparency, equity and fairness in the distribution of the potash to the end beneficiaries.

The donation is part of the gains of Russia Africa summit held in St. Petersburg, Russia, July this year, where the federal government’s delegation met with the leadership of Uralchem group and world food programme over the donation of a consignment of the 33,000 metric tonnes of potash to Nigeria.
