The Department of State Services (DSS) has urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against public dangers especially Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), during Lent and Ramadan.

In a statement by its spokesman Peter Afunanya, the anti-graft agency urged worshippers to promote understanding, compassion and respect, appealing to stakeholders to refrain from economic exploitation, sabotage or profiteering during these important obligations.

According to the statement, illegal practices such as price inflation or unethical marketing tactics are ungodly, as it violates fairness and can undermine the true essence of the holy events.

The agency however promised to provide strategic intelligence to other sister agencies in order to achieve a safe and secure country, during the Lent and Ramadan periods.
