the Minister of State for defence, Bello Matawalle, has assured residents and the electorate in imo, bayelsa, and kogi of safety during saturday’s off-season elections.
Matawalle gave the assurance during a televised interview, noting that adequate arrangements have been made for security agencies to deal decisively with anyone intending to cause chaos during the elections.
Earlier, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the restriction of vehicular movement in the three states during the governorship elections scheduled to take place on november 11, 2023, while assuring the protection of lives and properties.
The force public relations officer, acp Muyiwa Adejobi, said the restriction would be effective from midnight to 6 pm on saturday in the three states.
