Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been sworn in as the Governor of Ondo State following the death of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Akeredolu died earlier today after battling a protracted prostrate cancer ailment.
Aiyedatiwa who was in his hometown for the Christmas break when the news of the governor’s death broke, was sworn in in Akure by Chief Judge of the State, Justice Olusegun Odusola.
Speaking after the swearing in ceremony, Aiyedatiewa paid tributes to his predecessor and pledge his commitment to sustaining his legacy.q
Recall that Aiyedatiwa was an estranged deputy Governor until Wednesday, December 13 when power was formally transferred to him after Akeredolu went on another medical vacation.
