The Transmission Company of Nigeria said it has fully restored the national electricity grid which collapsed earlier today.

TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, in a statement said the collapse of the national grid was caused by a fire outbreak at the Afam power generating station, causing the Ibom Power plant to isolated, which further minimized the effect of the system disturbance.

TCN however confirmed that the affected section of the grid has been fully restored and stabilised, adding that the company would continue to invest in measures that will strengthen the grid infrastructure.

The company also reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the resilience and reliability of the national grid pledging to continue investing in measures aimed at strengthening the grid infrastructure.
