Lagos state government has announced the commencement of properties built on drainage channels along system 1, midstream, Odo-Iyalaro-Ojota, Ogudu ranch.

Commissioner for environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab made the announcement today, noting that the action follows several meetings with the owners of properties built on the drainage channel along System 1 midstream.

Wahab said the property owners ignored several notices served and kept building on the drainage, stating that the Monitoring Enforcement and Compliance Department began the removal of illegal properties to allow for the free flow of rainwater.

The commissioner assured that the Babajide Sanwo-Olu government is committed to ensuring flood-free communities across the State.
