Manchester city’s Phil Foden leads the list of a seven player shortlisted for February 2024’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.

In the month under review, Foden played every minute as Pep Guardiola’s side went unbeaten in five matches, winning four.

The Englishman scored a hat-trick at Brentford and got the winning goal away to AFC Bournemouth as City stayed hot on the heels of leaders Liverpool.

The 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder, Joao Gomes starred in a month that featured Wolverhampton Wanderers beating Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, securing two goals at Spurs and an assist at Stamford Bridge, as well as making a league-leading 23 tackles.

Brighton’s Pascal Gross also made the list, setting up four goals, more than any Premier League player in February, created the second-most chances, with 17, scored or assisted in all of Brighton & Hove Albion’s four matches.

The month proved crucial for Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester united, who witnessed the sheer brilliance of 21-year-old Dane, Rasmus Hojlund, who was directly involved in six goals, a joint-high.

He scored in all four of his appearances, extending his overall Premier League scoring streak to six matches, the youngest player in history to achieve this.

Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham scored four goals in only 329 minutes of action, netting in three of four matches to help his club win twice and draw once, stepping up in the absence of injured striker Raul Jimenez.

Bukayo Saka was the Premier League’s top scorer in February, netting six times for the only team with a 100 per cent winning record as Arsenal beat leaders Liverpool, plus West Ham United, Burnley and Newcastle United.

Finally, Ollie Watkins delivered an all-round performance, securing four goals and two assists to take his total goal involvements this season to 24, the joint-most in the Premier League.

The winner will be determined by combined votes of fans and a panel of football experts, with results to be released on Monday 4 March.
