Sierra Leone has declared an immediate Nationwide curfew following security breach at the military barracks by unidentified gunmen in the country’s capital, Freetown in the early hours of today.
Information Minister Chernor Bah affirmed that the intruders were rebuffed while advising citizens to remian indoors.
In the early hours of today, some unidentified armed men attempted to break into the military armoury at the Wilberforce barracks,but met a heavy defense from the military.
The political situation in the country has remained tense since the re-election of President Julius Maada Bio in a disputed election in June, the result of which was rejected by the main opposition candidate.
