The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has charged the Committee investigating the payment of N30 trillion “Ways and Means” released as loan to the Federal Government during the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, to be thorough and sincere.

Speaking while inaugurating the 17- member ad-hoc Committee, Akpabio said the Committee will spend six weeks in carrying out a holistic investigation into the matter, setting aside personal and partisan interest, to ensure justice and fairness.

According to him, the disbursement and use of national resources of such magnitude should not be swept under carpet, insisting that Nigerians deserve to know the facts about the government actives.

The ‘Ways and Means’ is an overdraft taken directly from the Central Bank of Nigeria to solve contingency needs of the nation following approval and directive of the executive arm of government which would have to be ratified by the parliament.
