President Bola Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to lead a presidential team to the finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) between Nigeria and hosts Côte d’Ivoire.
A statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Stanley Nkwocha affirmed this.
The Vice President had represented the President at the semi-finals when the Super Eagles defeated South Africa in a pulsating encounter.
President Tinubu who was initially rumoured to be planning to attend the finals, however, called on all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to unite in support of the Super Eagles, and to create a wave of national pride that propels the team to glory.
