President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate suspension and investigation of the national coordinator of the national social investment program agency, Halima Shehu, over alleged financial misconduct.
The national n-power program manager, Akindele Egbuwalo has been appointed in acting capacity as national coordinator of the programme pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Shehu worked as the national coordinator of the conditional cash transfer programme, where she used her banking and career expertise to see to the digitalisation of the programme.
She has been asked to appear before interrogators at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja to explain the alleged fraud.
