The National Universities Comission has approved the establishment of eight Science and Technology Education Programmes at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State.

The Registrar of CUSTECH, Olufunke Hudson, who disclosed this in a statement released today, said the establishment of the Programmes became important given the State Government’s determination to improve the quality and access of education at all levels in the state.

Hudson added that the newly approved undergraduate programmes include Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Mathematics Education, Physics Education, Computer Science Education, Geography Education, Library and Information Science, and Technology Education, among others.

She noted that the Programmes will run in a dedicated academic unit within the faculty of Science and Technology Education, adding that the faculty is equipped with the  necessary resources, human and material to train professional teachers.
