The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandep, says the federal government is ready to identify and adequately tackle the myriad challenges at the borders.

Kemi Nandep said this when she paid a courtesy visit to Kebbi State Governor, Nadir Idris, noting that irregular migration, transborder crimes, and the proliferation of small arms and light weapons are some of the major challenges that will be tackled.

According to Nandep, the service has the backing of the Bola Tinubu administration to employ technology and world standard surveillance system in securing the borders, in line with global best practices.

Kebbi State Governor Nadir Idris, who recently approved the inclusion of NIS in the state’s Security Committee, pledged sustained support to the personnel of the service, to enable them discharge their constitutional duties across the state.
