Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has denied links to a company allegedly awarded a contract by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, under now suspended minister Betta Edu.

Reports had surfaced claiming that a firm allegedly owned by Tunji-Ojo had gotten N438 million as consultancy fees from Edu, but in a televised interview, he denied owning the said firm, insisting that he is not a signatory to the company.

According to him, his intention and desire as a public servant is based on a commitment to serve with sincerity of purpose and openness, noting that Nigerians do not deserve to be kept in the dark in terms of public office operations.

He acknowledged he founded the company with his wife, was a director before resigning about five years ago, to pursue his political ambition.

The minister said he is only a shareholder of the company which is not in violation of the law.
