Residents have accused Lagos state traffic management authority of chasing erring motorist, in a bid to enforce traffic laws, thereby risking the lives of other road users.

The allegation surfaced today after a reckless driver killed two sanitations officials in Gbagada-Oshodi axis this morning, with eye witnesses accusing LASTMA of allegedly cashing the driver which forced him to mauver and kill the sanitation discharging their duties around the road.

Earlier, Lagos state waste management authority, LAWMA who confirmed the death of the two officers in a statement, appealed to road users to ensure strict compliance to road regulations to avoid accidents and unfortunate incidences, insisting that the welfare and safety of its workers remains paramount.

According to LAWMA, security operatives have swung into action to apprehend the reckless driver, while condoling with the families of the deceased.

The spokesman for the State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident noted that the force will ensure justice is served and normalcy is restored to the area.
