The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has announced the death of two of its female sanitation workers, who were knocked by a reckless driver around the Charlie boy area inward Gbagada in the cause of discharging their duties.

The agency in a statement released on its official X handle extended its condolences to the families of the deceased while urging the public to remain calm as it collaborates with security agencies to apprehend and prosecute the offender.

It further reiterated its appeal to motorists, to drive with utmost caution on the highways, to avoid sad incidents like this from happening to sanitation workers or anyone in the course of their legitimate duties.

Meanwhile eyewitnesses protesting at the scene of the incident, accused officials of the Lagos State Traffic Mmanagement Authority (LASTMA) of chasing the driver who crushed the LAWMA workers to death.
