Detectives of the Lagos States Police Command have arrested one Margret Itodo, Agnes Ogbeh, Esther Anyanwu and Anthony Chinakwe for faking the kidnap of Agnes and demanding a five-million-naira ransom.
In a statement by police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, Agnes Ogbeh, resident in Akure, had travelled to Lagos and was reportedly kidnapped in Lagos, with the kidnappers sending a video to the family, demanding the sum of Five Million Naira for the release of Agnes
Upon receipt of the complaint, detectives of the Command commenced a discreet and diligent investigation, which revealed that Margaret Itodo, a professional make-up artist was hired to make the video look real, three other suspects were unveiled and arrested.
Reacting to the arrest, Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, said the arrested persons will be charged to court, calling on Lagosians to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around them to the nearest police station.
