Lagos state government has promised to pursue the sustenance and adherence to extant laws in construction of building and structures in every part of the state.
Commissioner for environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab said this during an on-the-spot assessment to Shoreline Estate, Onikoyi Estate, Park View and Banana Island in the Ikoyi area, noting that contravention of construction laws attracts stiff penalties.
According to him, the Ministry will serve a contravention notice on the affected building to move their fences and other contravening structures by themselves or risk an enforcement of compliance, saying that a seven-day ultimatum has been issued to house owners.
