Lagos state government has warned commercial drivers from parking in unlawful locations, causing gridlock and flouting state traffic rules.

Commissioner for transportation Seun Osiyemi stated this today during an on-the-spot assessment to Berger area of the state, over the disruption of traffic flow caused by drivers.

Osiyemi in company of special adviser, Sola Giwa; and the permanent secretary, Wale Musa noted that their previous visit had a low rate of compliance which necessitated a second visit with stronger enforcement.

The commissioner assured Lagosians that the enforcement will continue until full compliance is carried out, appealing to motorist to cooperate with the state government to avoid sanctions.

Recall that operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, confirmed it impounded over 100 vehicles, including private and commercial vehicles, over illegal parking on top bridges across the state.
