The Lagos state government has debunked report making the rounds that it had reached a resolution with the state chapter of the road transport employers association of Nigeria. (RTEAN)

In a statement by the special adviser to the governor on transportation, Sola Giwa, the purported letter claiming to be addressed to the trade union congress, and the appointment of one Adeshina Hussaini also known as Okolomo is false and unfounded.

According to Giwa, the letter has no concurrence of the state government neither does not reflect the stance of the government while urging members of the press to thoroughly investigate every information before publishing it to the public.

He insisted that the activities of RTEAN remains prohibited within the state, until the government says otherwise.

Recall, the Sanwo-Olu led administration banned RTEAN in the state following a leadership crisis, leading to the appointment of a 35-man Caretaker Committee to take over the activities of the union.
