The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is prepared to conduct the rerun elections in some parts of Enugu State on February 3 as ordered by the Appeal Court.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Chukwuemeka Chukwu, disclosed this today during a stakeholders meeting in Enugu, stating that elections would be conducted in 25 registration areas, totalling 173 polling units that had some discrepancies in previous elections.
Chukwu said that stakeholders will be carried along to monitor the sensitive materials as they arrive as the elections draws closer while stressing that the commission expects maximum cooperation from the political parties to ensure a hitch-free and inclusive rerun elections.
Recall that the Appeal Court had ordered rerun in udenu/igbo-eze north federal constituency and Enugu South Urban state constituency, respectively.
