The Government of Haiti has declared a 72-hour state of emergency after armed gangs stormed a major Port-au-Prince prison, leading to the killing of at least 12 people and the escape of around 4,000 inmates.
The attacks escalated as gang leader, Jimmy Chérizier declared a Co-ordinated attack to remove prime minister ariel henry.
Global analyst, Harold Isaac, said finance minister, Patrick Boivert, who is serving as acting prime minister, ordered police to use all legal mean at their disposal to enforce the curfew and apprehend all offenders
Meanwhile, Kenya’s Deputy Inspector General of Police, Noor Gabow, said prime minister henry, who was in Kenya when the violence broke out, has returned to his country.
