Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other Stakeholders today witnessed the arrival of CMA CGM SCANDOLA, an LNG-powered 14,812 TEUs container vessel, which berthed at the Lagos Lekki Deep Sea Port – Nigeria’s most modern and deepest seaport.

 

The CMA CGM SCANDOLA, the first LNG-powered container vessel to sail to West Africa arriving first in Tema before coming to Lekki Port, the only port in Nigeria with the facilities to receive such large container vessels.

 

Governor Sanwo-Olu, commended the management of Lekki Port, Lekki Freeport Terminal, and CMA CGM for this major feat in the Nigerian maritime industry and other achievements since the commissioning of this port.

 

Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited (LPLEL) is a joint venture enterprise owned by Lekki Port Investment Holdings Inc 75%, Lagos State Government; 20% and the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA); 5%.

 

 

Earlier, the Governor visited the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa for the #TeachForNigeria celebration of International Day of Education; A Day with Mr Governor.

 

The Teach for Nigeria fellowship program is a two-year, full-time, paid commitment designed to build a movement of leaders who work towards eliminating educational inequity in Nigeria, in collaboration with the State Ministry of Education.
