Human right lawyer, Femi Falana SAN says President Tinubu has a duty to fulfil his promises of overseeing a credible election by taking stringent actions towards upholding the independence and neutrality of the electoral umpire.

Falana speaking during an interview today was reacting to the partisan allegations against some nominees of the President for the role of resident electoral commissioners confirmed by the senate, insisting that illegality in INEC will further embolden decay in Nigerian democracy.

 

Falana also called on all stakeholders to resolve to snatch the fate of electoral victories and verdicts from the hands of the judiciary by conducting credible elections that reflects the desires of the people, noting that a sustained propagation of court victories will water down the potency of elections.

He also expressed dismay at the conduct of some legally inclined persons in politics who he said had neglected the tenets of the profession they practiced for years to chase shadows.
