The speaker of Ekiti state house of assembly Stephen Aribasoye has called for regional integration to adequately tackle security challenges and economic gaps to boost the government abilities in meeting the needs of residents.

 

Aribasoye speaking during an interview noted that the southwest has potential that can only be harnessed through synergy, saying that the country has a lot to benefit from legislative ventures including a review of security architecture.

 

The lawmaker also stated that the current realities does not support reactionary actions or policies, calling for express devolution of power, to allow governors as the chief security officers unhindered control over their territories as deemed fit.

 

Aribasoye also advocated proactive measures including the employment of unmanned aerial vehicles and top class surveillance intelligence to aid security operatives in securing the lives of residents in each state.
