President Bola Tinubu has handed the All Progressives Congress Flag to the Edo Governorship Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and deputy Governorship Candidate of the APC, Honourable Dennis Idahosa.

This followed a meeting of the leadership of the Edo State chapter of the APC at the Presidential Villa, where Okpebholo was formally introduced following a troubled primary election that triggered controversies over the winner.

Recall the primary election that eventually produced Okpebholo as candidate had initially ran into a controversy as Idahosa was first declared by the Governor Hope Uzodimma-led committee.

The first round of primary was then declared inconclusive by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, owing to a number of irregularities.

Among those at the meeting, which was held in the President’s office were the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole; Senator Matthew Urhoghide, former representative of Edo South in the Senate; among others.
