A Lagos-based lawyer and former Bank Executive, Asue Ighodalo says he would prioritise security and improving the conditions of living if elected to govern Edo State in 2024.

Ighodalo who is believed to be backed by the outgoing governor, Godwin Obaseki made this known in Benin City where he formally declared his intention to run for Governor.

He said: “As governor, my mission will be to create an Edo State where hard work is rewarded and where our talented youth can turn their dreams and aspirations into reality.

“Our economic policies will uplift the poor, support the hard-working men and women of this state, and encourage entrepreneurship and innovation

Ighodalo who is challenging the Deputy Governor of the state, Phillip Shaibu among others for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party expressed gratitude to the party executives for closing ranks to back his ambition.

His statement followed the decision of party leaders in Edo Central District to back him.
