The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has cautioned Judges against bringing disrepute to the judicial arm of government.

Ariwoola gave the admonition while declaring open the 2023 conference of judges of the Federal High Court, stressing on the need for Judges to always consult with laws and rules before writing their judgments and rulings.

The CJN charged them not to take their appointments for granted but strive to justify the appointments by passing judgments and decisions that would not be rejected by the Appellate Courts.

Ariwoola also warned judges of the Federal High Court against taking their appointments for granted, noting that the High Court is the only Court with exclusive originating jurisdiction over election-related matters in the country.
