The norther senator’s forum has advocated a more decisive approach in tackling the rising cases of insecurity in the country, with focus on speedy dispensation of justice.

The chairman of the forum, senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, speaking during a televised interview, argued that arrest and prosecution of offenders in the past has in no way discouraged criminals, insisting that government must change its approach to justice dispensation.

Yar’adua who is also the chairman of the Senate Committee on the Army, hailed President Bola Tinubu for actively trying to increase the capacity of security outfits in Nigeria, explaining that the current capacity cannot adequately handle the challenges in the country.

The lawmaker further appealed for intensive and intentional grassroot developmental programs, to bring the government closer to the people, which he said will alleviate suffering, one of the drivers of criminal activities.
