TikTok Claims the App Now Tops 1 Billion Daily Active Users

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a bill that would give TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance six months to sell the app’s U.S. assets or face a nationwide ban.

The bipartisan measure, called the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, comes amid concerns over potential national security threats posed by TikTok’s Chinese ownership.

If ByteDance fails to divest its U.S. operations within 180 days as mandated by the bill, TikTok would be prohibited from operating on app stores in the United States.

TikTok is immensely popular among young Americans, boasting an estimated 170 million users in the country.
