The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has urged the Federal Government to prioritize slashing the cost of governance, to help save more money for the government to tackle other needs.

The TUC President, Festus Osifo, gave the advice while speaking in a televised interview today, stating that money saved from the removal of fuel subsidy should be harnessed to take care of the most vulnerable Nigerians

According to him, the government should consider short term actions that can alleviate the current burden on Nigerians and prepare a spring board for the implementation of proper policies.

The TUC leader expressed optimism that the labour union would not lose grip of their demands to the Federal Government, adding that the labour union and the government would continue the negotiations on June 26.
