Lagos state government has advocated an outright end to dollarization of the Nigerian economy stating that such policies enslave the Naira and mounts undue pressure on the economy.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu said this at a media parley, noting that the dependency on dollar is a menace to Nigeria, wondering why Nigerians will charge fees or rents in foreign currency and other do business in Nigeria, using foreign currencies.
According to him, government at all levels must rise against such practices, in order to rescue the economy and attract value to the local currency which he said will be of great impact to boost national economy.
The governor further faulted government at all levels for poor communication of the realities, stating that the people must be duly informed and updated on the happening and developments in different sectors.
He also promised to sustain consultations with other governors and the federal government to continue to work out policies to better the situation of the country
