President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms, at the State House in Abuja today.
At the inauguration, the President said the Committee would be guided by national interest above all else, while insisting the country cannot continue to tax poverty or production but focus on returns, income and consumption.
He also directed all government agencies, ministries and departments to cooperate fully with the Committee towards achieving their mandate.
The committee chaired by Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at Price Waterhouse Coopers, Taiwo Oyedele will be responsible for various aspects of tax law reforms, fiscal policy design and coordination, harmonization of taxes, and revenue administration.
