Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was arrested today in connection with a police Scotland investigation into the Scottish National Party’s funding

The Police investigation is looking into the missing 600,000 pounds raised by Scottish independence campaigners in 2017, which was supposed to have been ring-fenced but may have been used for other purposes.

Sturgeon arrest comes on the back of the detentions of party treasurer Colin beattie and Former Party Chief Executive peter Murrell also Sturgeon’s husband who were both subsequently released without charge.

Sturgeon’s arrest will intensify the scandal that has engulfed Scotland’s largest political party just months after she stood down as party leader and first minister in February.
