Osun state government has berated Muslim Rights Organisation, MURIC, over what it described as attempt to cause religious crisis in the state, saying religion cannot be used as divisive tool among the peace-loving people of the state.

In statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke insisted that his appointments and decisions have been on competency and commitment to state duty while restating his commitment to deliver on good governance.

The statement is in response to MURIC’s reaction to the list of commissioner nominees sent to the state assembly by the governor, describing him as favoring on religious group over another.

Rasheed noted that the state is a highly enlightened society with deep records of religious harmony without religious bigotry, ethnic partisanship and unmeritorious decision making.
