Eight persons who were kidnapped in Lagos last week have regained freedom.

The victims said to be employees of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc were abducted last Monday while on a private boat from Lagos Island to Lekki.

They were released last night at the Sangotedo area of the state.

Spokesman for the Lagos Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a short statement, confirmed the release of the oil workers today.

It is however unclear if ransom was paid for their freedom.
