Minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu says the Bola Tinubu administration is willing to take hard decisions and steps the previous government failed to take that has plunged Nigeria into regression.

Adelabu explaining the cause of power supply challenge in the country, stated that the government has resolved to employ subsidized tariff plan temporarily, while it perfects transitional plans to a full cost effective tariff in a period of three years.

The minister also said the government is willing to address tough issues like accumulated debt arising from lack of financial capacity, poor infrastructure, vandalism and unwholesome acts by consumers, which he said has crippled the sector.

Adelabu further stated that the pilot phase of the MOU with Germany to expand capacity of transmission is almost complete with ten power transformers already installed, five commissioned and three mobile substations installed with seven more to be commissioned soon.

According to him, the technical handover of the Zungeru power plant is almost complete with power generation tested yesterday, noting that it is connected to the national grid and will begin operation as soon.
