The House of Representatives has called for thorough investigation into the account by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), stating that the federation account allocation committee (FAAC) had severally accused the NNPCL of short-changing it by refusing to pay over N2 trillion to the federation account from crude sales, royalties and taxes.

Lawmakers say they are aware that the NNPCL is insisting that the Federal Government owed it over N4 trillion of subsidy payments, power debt and other sundry charges and therefore would not remit until the debts are recovered.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam federal Constituency, Unyime Idem, has expressed concern that a two-year-old child, who returned from school, tragically lost his life due to a bullet fired by NDLEA operatives in Asaba.

Idem appealed to the house to order the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to take over the case and ensure appropriate punishment is meted out to the culprits.
